Ram Janmabhoomi Trust seeks idea for Ayodhya temple design

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is actively seeking ideas for the design of the Ayodhya Ram temple. Individuals, subject experts, architects, and designers are invited to contribute suggestions, which the trust intends to incorporate into the masterplan. Emphasizing major elements such as religious yatra, rituals, culture, and science, the Trust has set the submission deadline for November 25.

In official tweets, the Trust expressed its openness to pro bono suggestions, encouraging submissions by email. The finalized location, orientation, and design of the temple, following the traditional ‘Nagara’ style of architecture, are outlined on the Trust’s website. A consultant has been appointed, and work on the masterplan details for the expansive 70-acre site is underway.

Acknowledging the deep religious and cultural significance of the project, the Trust seeks input and ideas, while emphasizing its discretion to accept, adopt, or reject any suggestion. The trust may provide follow-up clarification if deemed necessary.

The Trust website clarifies that the sought-after ideas do not pertain to the design of the temple itself, as the location and orientation, in accordance with religious practices and vaastu principles, are already finalized. However, suggestions are welcomed for various functions on the site, planning of pilgrim circulation and management, optimal utilization of the site’s topography and features, and addressing the architectural style of the proposed design.
